Wasted day? Perhaps...

One thing that I have found in my life that I am thoroughly enjoying is my morning routine. I wake up around 7am and make sure to greet myself out loud as my feet gently grasp the soft carpet and my hands reach for the air. I throw on my running tights, run for 4+ miles (hopefully) and then go to the gym to weight lift. Perhaps what I like most about my morning joy time (yeah, that is what I call it) is when I walk in the door of my house, after having been extremely active for at least two hours in the bitter cold, and realize that all that there is to meet me at that point in time is warmth and silence and the joyous anticipation of Greek yogurt, granola, a banana, a protein shake and a minuscule cup of coffee. Although our kitchen is small and cluttered with neglected bills, forgotten readings etc. the even lighting of a cloudy morning flowing through the 3 windows is enough to influence the tone and emotional reactions to the room.
This picture being painted, I woke up this morning, exercised, ate and got ready to travel to Portsmouth to pick up a pair of running tights that I was told I could get a discount off of. I decided to bring my dad, hoping for a companion and, honestly, to get the man out of the house and influence his mood from then on. He came along, and unfortunately, the day turned into a shopping excursion.
After Runner's Alley and a chat with the really cute, married Aron, my dad decided he wanted to go to Pep Boy's, EMS and then home. I had fully intended to pick up my pair of tights and come home to Walden and finish the darn thing.
Best Buy was next on the list. Although I am guilty for I wanted to go and see if they had a very renowned video game for sale. But this, too, proved to be a 2 hour excursion. All in all, it is 9:14pm and it is only now that I will attempt to read Walden, write here, and install a video game. Was it a wasted day? Perhaps...but either way, I still had my morning joy time :-)
